More Crochet Fun
So I made another project from The Happy Hooker. This is the One Skein Scarf. I used a bit less than one skein of Paton's Classic Merino (the yarn called for in the pattern). Since I didn't have the size hook called for in the project, my gauge was smaller. But I planned on that happening, so there! I'm really digging crochet, at least in these simple projects. I'm planning to tackle something bigger soon.

that looks really nice, glor! miss you guys!
Thanks beth. We miss you too!
Aww that's such a cute little scarf! I flipped through The Happy Hooker yesterday but wasn't sure if I should buy it. Is it a good one?
geeyouknit, I would say the book is a good investment. It's only about 15 USD, and I think it will be a good reference. There are a bunch of typos, but Debbie Stoller's site has the corrections.
dude, glor!!! i just looked at your swap info page for the first time, and i see that you have the shiny clutch as one of the things you desire! i have had that thread bookmarked since bookmarking became available. i love it!!! and i want to know how to do it. i think i am going to try it one of these days. i'm looking at appartments to rent (hopefully starting in may or june) and one of the ones i looked at recently had 4 bedrooms(!) for cheap. if we end up there, because it's just me and ali, i'm totally turning one of the rooms into a 'crafting' room, where i will finally have a place to set up my sewing machine! it has been sitting in my basement pretty much since i went to college. but when i do, i'm trying out that purse! anyway, just thought it was fun that we liked the same project.
Bethie, you are adorable. And apparently you are way into surfing the internet today. Let me know how your purse attempt goes!
Your crochet projects look great! I just got the Happy Hooker - but haven't learned the hooking part yet. Hopefully soon... what do you think you'll make next?
Hi, Elizabeth. I'm thinking about crocheting one of the hat patterns next. I have always had a fascination with crocheted hats. I hope you get to try some things from the book soon. It's a fun change of pace from knitting.
